The Doc Fosse 5 string banjitar is an innovative instrument designed for the five string banjo player. It incorporates a five string banjo neck with a guitar body which allows the banjo player to employ the finger picking style of play into other genres of music beyond bluegrass, such as folk, jazz, classical and more,

The Doc Fosse banjitar is a handmade,solid hardwood instrument composed of an Engelmann spruce soundboard, Indian rosewood back and sides, and asapele (mahogany) neck. It contains sapele binding, abolone trim with a traditional style  abalone fret inlay, Gotoh gold tuners with pearloid buttons, and a high gloss finish.
